Outdoor Education can be defined in a broad context as including aspects of adventure sports, ecology and environmental studies with the general aim of contributing to an individual’s physical, social and personal development while endeavoring to ensure that these individuals become more aware of the environment and the importance of conserving it for future generations. An outdoor educator may use the same medium of adventure sports but the aims and objectives will differ as the concerns of the outdoor tutor is education using adventure sports and outdoor activities as its medium rather than an end in itself.
